Launch of Set Proposal and Circuit Design Support for High Precision Crystal Unit and Thermistor for Automotive UWB

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd has announced a set proposal and circuit design support for a discrete configuration combining the crystal unit ‘XRCGE55M200MZF1BR0’ and the thermistor ‘NCU03XH103F6SRL’ for automotive Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications. The proposal targets automotive applications that utilize UWB, including digital keys, CPD (Child Presence Detection), sensors, and Wireless BMS.

In recent years, automotive UWB systems require highly accurate timing control for wideband communication as digital key systems and advanced safety functions evolve. However, under high temperature environments it is difficult for a crystal unit alone to satisfy the required accuracy, and compensation using a temperature sensor integrated in the crystal unit has generally been necessary.

At the same time, there has been demand for using a discrete configuration that combines a crystal unit with an external thermistor in order to optimize cost structure. However, circuit design and temperature compensation have been challenging in such configurations.

Murata therefore begins offering a set proposal combining the crystal unit ‘ XRCGE55M200MZF1BR0’ and the thermistor ‘NCU03XH103F6SR, ’ together with circuit design support for temperature characteristic compensation. Through the support link, customers can contact Murata and provide their mounted circuit boards. Murata measures temperature characteristic parameters when the products are mounted and provides the resulting data.

This support helps customers achieve their target performance by using compensation parameters optimized for their mounted circuit boards even in a discrete configuration, while also improving design process efficiency.

The crystal unit included in this set proposal is a new product that entered mass production in March 2026. It achieves a compact 2016 size together with high reliability.

2.Thermistor

  • Suitable for equipment requiring highly reliable components, including automotive electronics.
  • Achieves miniaturization with copper electrodes in a 0201 inch (0.6 × 0.3 mm) size.
  • Small volume enables fast thermal response.

The device size is 0.6 × 0.3 mm. Resistance at 25°C is 10 kΩ ±1.0%. The B constant (25/50°C) is 3380 K ±1.0%. Operating temperature range is −55 to +125°C.
