Power over Coax (PoC) is a transmission method that enables the simplification of wiring by superimposing the power supply onto signal cables. By making use of suitable inductors from Murata’s extensive lineup, such as the LQW-F series developed for PoC applications such as ADAS camera interfaces, it is possible to create wide-band Bias-T circuits that employ fewer components. We recommend PoC for applications such as automobiles, industrial equipment (FA), robots, and drones. The “Bias-T Inductor Selection tool” on the Murata website can help you select the best components for your Bias-T circuits.

・An asterisk (*) and question mark (?) can be used as wild cards. When an asterisk (*) is entered in a character string where a portion of a part number being searched is unknown, products can be searched as a condition specifying any character string. A question mark (?) can be used as a condition specifying any character string.
Clicking the product name in the chart will display the applicable part number list.
It is necessary to design a Bias-T circuit in Power over Coax (PoC) systems so that high-frequency signals do not flow into the power line with its low load impedance. We take a look at inductor selection examples based on configurations for SerDes IC such as Analog Devices' GMSL™. Furthermore, our Bias-T Inductor Selection Tool proposes the optimal combination of components with an algorithm based on knowledge gained through application research.
Here we examine various simulation models (S-parameters, SPICE models, circuit simulation models, and electromagnetic field and thermal analysis simulation models <CAE>), selection tools, samples, and FAQs.
We take a look at the effects the pad and ground design have on the characteristic impedance, as well as measures to mitigate crosstalk.
